Gata de Gorgos can be found North of Teulada on the main coast road the N-332. The road cuts through the Gorge after which the town is named, as is the river, Riu Gorgos. Gata's economy is based on agriculture and esparto grass crafts. Artifacts both large and small made from cane and palm. The church in Gata dates from 1535, but the towns streets are dominated by the craft shops, whose wares spill into the main street.
